How to Set Goals

To achieve all that you desire

You must learn how to set goals early in life to gain all your desired achievements.

The first thing you want to do is make a list of your goals. Which goal is the most important to you?

Do you need to reach another goal before being able to reach your most important goal?

When setting your goals, make sure that none of the goals conflict with your main goal.

Choose goals that are very important to you. Do not just write a goal down because someone else told you to.

You have to want it. Your goals have to excite you. You have to want to reach each goal so badly that you can already taste it on the tip of your tongue.

You must learn how to set goals to insure that you know exactly what you want out of life.

Write down goals that make sense for you and your family. Do not write down goals that you may be able to reach, but your family will not agree with helping you to reach.

For example, have you always wanted to move to New York State? You may have secretly always dreamed of working in New York, so you keep applying for jobs in New York.

You may have taken a trip to New York and fell in love with the atmosphere.

If you do get hired to work in New York, will your spouse, significant other and children want to move there with you? Make sure you discuss this option with them beforehand.

You do not want to set yourself up for failure. If you do, you will have resentment towards your spouse, significant other and/or family.

You must learn how to set goals to keep yourself motivated.

You want to keep things positive in your life as well as their lives. There may be another state or country that your family agrees to move to.

This will help to make your dream job come true.

Focus on getting hired there. Unless you are single, you need to set goals that will work for everyone that lives with you.

Start small, with trying to reach your goals, in other words do not overwhelm yourself. If you have too many goals that seem unattainable you are more likely to give up.

Make sure your goals are positive.

For example, if you are looking for a job in sales, do not write down that you will not work with demanding clients or customers. You want to focus on the job.

You may write down in your journal you want to please your clients/customers and if they are difficult, you will help to turn their attitude around.

Your goal is to make your clients/customers happy.

You must learn how to set goals to keep life interesting and engaging.

Make your goals specific. If you want to become an author write down when you want to finish your first book.

Write down when you want your first book to be published.

Write down how many books you think you want to write in your lifetime.

Write down what type of books you want to write.

Maybe you are interested in writing three children’s books, one mystery book and one book about love.

You can cross your goals off of your list once you reach each one. You will have such a feeling of accomplishment when you reach each one.

If you learn how to set goals early in life you will insure that you will have all that your heart desires and so much more.
